POPE HOLDS VIRTUAL AUDIENCE WITH AMERICANS
Excitement continues to mount for the Pope’s historic first visit to America. In preparation for his momentous trip later this month Pope Francis held a virtual meeting through ABC News with a group of audiences around the country.
The event will air in a one-hour special edition of ABC News’ "20/20" on Friday, Sept. 4 at 10 p.m. ET.
The United States is literally rolling out the red carpet for this winsome Jesuit leader of the Catholic world. Yet the silence among Protestants pastors is amazing to me! Consider the prophetic significance of what he’s doing!
1. He meets with the president of the United States at the White House.
2. He will address a joint assembly of the United States Congress.
3. He will address the United Nations General Assembly.
4. Then he will conduct a colossal mass in the Philadelphia where the declaration of independence was signed.
5. Then he will conduct a mass in Madison Square Garden. New York City, the financial center of the world. (Which incidentally was also the first capital of the United States).
Of particular interest to me was his interdenominational service at the 9/11 memorial following his address to the United Nations. This will make a statement of his solidarity with Americans in the face of Islamic terrorism.
Vice President Joe Biden, a Catholic, said this week, the pope's Sept. 23 visit will mark an important moment not only for Catholics but for all Americans.
He went on to say Francis "has become a moral rudder for the world…"
"All the world wondered..." Revelation 13:3
