I love the reading voice of alexander scourby
he has a slight british accent
Alexander Scourby (/ˈskɔrbi/; November 13, 1913 – February 22, 1985) was an American film, television, and voice actor known for his deep and resonant voice.[1] He is best known for his film role as the ruthless mob boss Mike Lagana in Fritz Lang's The Big Heat (1953), and is also particularly well-remembered in the English-speaking world for his landmark recordings of the entire King James Version audio Bible, which have been released in numerous editions. He later recorded the entire Revised Standard Version of the Bible.[2] Scourby recorded 422 audiobooks for the blind which he considered his most important work.[1] He has a reputation in the audiobook industry as being one of the greatest narrators: "He is heralded as having the greatest voice ever recorded."[1]
King James Bible[edit]
Scourby was the first person to record the King James Bible on long-play records in the 1950s. He originally narrated the Old and New Testament for the American Foundation for the Blind. The project required more than four years before it was completed in 1953. The original goal was to produce a clean, clear recording for visually impaired listeners. The American Bible Society distributed the recordings as The Talking Bible, a set of 169 records with a running time of 84.5 hours.[citation needed]4. http://www.visualbiblealive.com/religiouspictures/2%20chronicles%2026/1/
